Parent and Child visas

Family visas are made to reunite family members with their relatives in Australia. The following family visas include:

  1. Child Visa (Subclass 101 or 802): Available for children applying from outside or inside Australia.

  2. Aged Parent Visa (Subclass 804): Allows older parents to stay permanently in Australia with their children.

  3. Contributory Parent Visa (Subclass 143): This visa is for parents who can contribute a higher visa application charge for faster processing.

  4. Sponsored Parent Visa (Subclass 870): This visa allows parents to stay temporarily in Australia for 3 or 5 years.

Key requirements for Family Visas:

  1. Establishing the Family Relationship: Proof of relationship such as parent-child.

  2. Sponsorship: An Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen relative must sponsor the applicant.

  3. Assurance of Support: This is a monetary commitment to financially support the arriving family member, minimizing their financial impact on the Australian community.
